Gita Krishnaswamy, MEd, MPH

Gita Krishnaswamy is a NWCPHP faculty member, and supports several training programs including the Leadership Institute. She also led the development of the Northwest Public Health Primary Care Leadership Institute curriculum.

Gita has extensive experience using problem-based learning and constructivist pedagogy and her work focuses on the interrelationship between educational attainment and health. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Health Services at the University of Washington, where she serves as the Associate Director of the Community-Oriented Public Health Practice MPH program.

Gita has developed customized workshops for educators on the interrelationship between educational attainment and health and has given interactive keynotes on the value of strategic partnerships between public health and public education. With extensive experience using problem-based learning and constructivist pedagogy, she has trained numerous K–12 and university faculty in their theory and implementation.

Gita received her MPH from the University of Washington in 2012, and MEd from DePaul University in 2005.
