Our researchers work in interdisciplinary teams to produce evidence that has direct applications to public health practice.

In close partnership with public health agencies and community-based organizations, we investigate practice-relevant questions and translate findings into practical tools that address today’s front-line challenges.

Examples of this include improving the use of agency and community data for decision making, strengthening effective communications with marginalized populations, and building resiliency among the public health and health care workforce.

We prioritize projects that promote health equity, especially those that support rural public health and prevention systems.

We welcome new partnerships and input from all who work to protect and promote the public’s health. We encourage faculty, students, practice partners, and funders to e-mail Ria Francisco for more information about our research projects and opportunities for collaboration.
