Jack Thompson is a former Director at NWCPHP (serving from 1999–2008), and continues to work with the center in a variety of activities. He provides content expertise in the area of public health leadership, policy, community organizing, and community building.
Outside of his academic responsibilities, Jack is an affiliate with Cedar River Group, a consulting group focusing on public sector projects and serves as a board member of the Washington State Public Health Association.
Jack is a Principal Lecturer Emeritus in the Department of Health Services at the University of Washington School of Public Health and has been on the faculty here since 1994. Prior to coming to the University of Washington, Jack was employed by Public Health - Seattle & King County for ten years and was the Director of the Seattle Health Services Division from 1986 to 1994. Before this, Jack was Executive Director of Neighborhood Health Centers of Seattle, a consortium of community health centers, for six years.
