In the March session of Hot Topics in Practice, national and state public health leaders will discuss this concept and offer examples of implementation.
In this one-hour webinar, Sharon Moffatt and Lisa Waddell will share how the Sandy Hook school shooting prompted the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials to develop a national position statement with strategic recommendations to prevent firearm injury and death. Washington State Secretary of Health, John Wiesman, will speak about putting these recommendations into action. He will focus on working with the governor to close data gaps, joining with law enforcement and other new partners, and reducing suicide deaths throughout the state.
