This two-part webinar is the sixth session of the series, Disaster Research Training for Children and Families. The series is intended to enhance the infrastructure and to provide the skills, information and resources needed to conduct disaster mental health research with children and families. This session is made up of two 1 1/2 hour webinars, led by Gil Reyes, PhD.
Learning Objectives
Part One:
- Consider key components of early (post-disaster) interventions such as psychological first aid
- Consider needed research with early interventions
Part Two:
- Consider outcomes studies of psychoeducational and group interventions with children
- Consider some of the generalizations about these interventions

Format
The series of seven training sessions was held online, using iLinc web conferencing software. The initial Universal Training Project lasted 1.5 hours. All other training sessions in this series lasted 3 hours. Recordings of these sessions are available below.
Session Six Presenter
Gilbert Reyes, PhD, Associate Dean for Clinical Training at Fielding Graduate University, is a licensed clinical psychologist. He specializes in disaster survivors and their communities and serves as a consultant to the Terrorism and Disaster Center of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network specializing in the development of trauma related interventions for children and families.
