The Northwest Public Health Training Center has 20 stipends to support student projects during the 2019-20 academic year.
The Northwest Public Health Training Center is now accepting applications to support student projects in Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and Oregon during the 2019–20 academic year.
Twenty students will be awarded up to $3,500 each. Funds will be distributed directly to students and are intended to help them defray living expenses during their hands-on learning experience. Stipends are available for undergraduate juniors and seniors, graduate, and doctoral students enrolled in public health, psychology, sociology, and social work degree programs. Proposals will be evaluated based on public health practice focus, attention to underserved areas and populations, and feasibility. Students are encouraged to submit projects that address opioid misuse and improving mental and behavioral health. However, projects that focus on other health areas will still receive full consideration for funding.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through March 20, 2020 for distribution during the 2019–20 academic year. Students beginning projects in winter or spring terms are encouraged to apply in the fall of 2019 to secure a stipend, as availability is limited.
